1. Who we are
Last updated 3 October 2026.
Slimedom ("we", "us") runs slime-making workshops and parties at 53A George Lane, South Woodford, London E18 1LN and Lakeside Shopping Centre, West Thurrock Way, Grays, Essex RM20 2ZP. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
If you have any questions, email hello@slimedom.com or call +44 7498 254704.
2. Booking online
Online bookings are made through Wix (Wix.com Ltd), which runs our booking and payment system. Each venue has its own Wix account.
When you book, we ask for your name, email address and phone number. These are sent to Wix with your booking details: what you are booking, the day and time, the number of places and any add-ons. Wix uses them to make the booking and to send your confirmation emails for us. We do not send text-message reminders.
While you choose a time, your browser talks to Wix directly to show what is free. Like any website, Wix receives technical details such as your IP address.
Card payments are taken on Wix's secure payment page, by Wix and its payment providers. We never see or store your card details.
We need these details to take and run your booking. Without them, we cannot book you in.
3. Messages, calls and forms
If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we keep your contact details, your messages and anything you choose to tell us, such as dates, the number of children or a child's age for a party. We use this to reply and, if you book, to plan your visit.
WhatsApp is run by Meta (WhatsApp Ireland Ltd and WhatsApp LLC). Messages you send there are also covered by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
Our website forms (the schools and groups enquiry and the email booking request) are sent through Formspree (Formspree Inc., USA), which passes them to us by email. We only use your answers to reply to you.
4. Children, allergies and health
This website and online booking are for grown-ups aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect children's details online, apart from a child's age if you include it in a party request.
At a booking or party, a parent or carer may tell us a child's first name and age, and any allergies or medical conditions, so we can keep everyone safe.
Allergy and health information is special category data. We only use it with the explicit consent of the parent or carer who gives it to us (UK GDPR Article 9(2)(a)), and only to keep the child safe. We delete it soon after the session unless you ask us to keep it for a future visit.
5. Photos and films
We sometimes photograph and film sessions for our website and social media. We rely on your consent for this.
If you would rather you or your child were not included, tell us on the day and we will leave you out.
If an image of you or your child is already published and you would like it taken down, email hello@slimedom.com and we will remove it from our website and our social media accounts.
We never name or tag children in our posts.
6. Reviews
We quote public Google reviews on this website, using the reviewer's first name and initial only. If you wrote one and would like it removed from our site, email us and we will take it down.
7. Using this website
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies at present. If we ever add them, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Our fonts are stored on our own website, so loading a page does not contact Google.
This website is hosted by Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA). Like any web host, Vercel keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and running well.
Our Directions buttons are plain links to Google Maps, and our social media buttons link to Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Once you follow a link, that company's own privacy policy applies.
The booking pages save a little information in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. The booking pages need it to work, so we do not ask for consent to it, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. It holds:
- the venue you last chose, so the site can show it first next time
- a short summary of a booking you have just made, including your email address, so the thank-you page can show it. It is used for up to three hours, and deleted the next time the thank-you page opens after that
- the references of up to five recent Wix orders, so the thank-you page never shows a payment twice
8. Our lawful bases
The law requires us to have a reason, called a lawful basis, for using your personal information. Ours are:
- Contract: to take, run and confirm your booking.
- Legitimate interests: to reply to enquiries and messages, to run and secure this website, and to show public reviews. We balance these interests against your rights.
- Consent: for photos and films, and (as explicit consent) for allergy and health details. You can withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect anything we did before.
- Legal obligation: to keep booking and payment records for HMRC.
9. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run Slimedom, and only what they need:
- Wix.com Ltd, for bookings, confirmation emails and payments, with its payment providers
- Formspree Inc., for our website forms
- Vercel Inc., which hosts this website
- Meta (WhatsApp Ireland Ltd and WhatsApp LLC), when you message us on WhatsApp
- our email provider, which stores the emails we send and receive
- professional advisers, such as our accountant, and HMRC, the police or other authorities where the law requires it
10. Transfers outside the UK
Some of these companies store information outside the UK: Wix in Israel and the USA, and Formspree and Vercel in the USA.
Each transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations (which cover Israel), the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or another safeguard the law allows. Email us if you would like more detail.
11. How long we keep it
- Booking and payment records: six years after the end of the tax year they relate to.
- Enquiries and messages: up to 12 months after we were last in touch.
- Photos and films: until you withdraw your consent or we stop using them.
- Allergy and health notes: deleted soon after the session, unless you ask us to keep them.
12. Keeping it safe
Every page of this website uses HTTPS. Card details go to Wix's payment page and never touch our systems. Only the staff who need booking details to run sessions can see them.
13. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the rights listed below. Some apply only in certain situations. To use any of them, email hello@slimedom.com. We will reply within one month, and we may need to check who you are first.
- to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- to have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete
- to have it deleted
- to ask us to limit how we use it
- to receive it in a portable format, or have it sent to another organisation
- to object to how we use it, including for marketing
- to withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it
- not to be subject to decisions made solely by automated means. We do not make any.
14. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. We would like the chance to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top.
